This post contains everything you need to know about the Yeti Endurance Weekend 5K and why Kansas City is an amazing place to experience it!
Earlier this month, William and I ran in the Yeti Endurance Weekend 5K in Kansas City (well, technically Raytown)! This was our seventh race of 2024, and it was a beautiful morning for a run.
Not only did I finish with my second-best pace per mile of the year (yes!), but I also got to soak in the cool fall temps and peaceful view running along Longview Lake County Park.
If you’re thinking about joining a race that’s challenging, well-organized, and takes place in a great location, you should check this one out!
Why the Yeti Endurance Weekend is Special
There aren’t many KC events that include a 5k, 10k, half-marathon, AND marathon option. Organized by KC Running Company, the Yeti Endurance Weekend stands out for its blend of competitive spirit and local Kansas City charm. The Yeti Endurance Weekend events attracts runners of all skill levels, from first-timers to seasoned athletes. You’re guaranteed a supportive crowd, high-energy atmosphere despite being out and about before the sun has risen, and a scenic course through one of Kansas City’s favorite parks.
For me, the highlight was the early morning start. With fall weather offering cool, crisp air and gorgeous autumn colors, conditions were perfect for a good run. There’s something about the changing leaves and fresh air that gives a natural boost of energy, making this an ideal race for those looking to set personal records or simply enjoy a beautiful run with your thoughts.
